For the record, it would be nice if you could post the pic in the thread aswell as the link. Just makes it easier. As for the logo, it looks rather boring and doesnt really convey a message about the company to me. I have no idea what MONTreal is or means from looking at the logo. --- My deviantART My Behance |

This logo is an abstract. The world's largest corporate logos are abstract. For example apple.com. |

And what non text elements there are, they really tell me nothing and do nothing for the overall design. Neither does the scribble text vs. the regular text. --- My deviantART My Behance |

apple's logo is hardly abstract, it's an apple. Their logo doesn't really say anything about what they do because it doesn't need to. Back in the day they were 'apple computers', and since then the apple brand has become very iconic There are several issues with your logo. for one, it's toosimple. I tend to think that a logo needs at least one element of flair, or one particularly eyecatching element. For yours I suppose it would be how the underline cuts off, however it's not interesting enough. Logos need to be simple but they need to be memorable too. One of the most important aims of the logo is to make it stick in the consumer's mind. If the logo isn't interesting it becomes boring, and if it becomes boring it isn't memorable, and therefore fails as a logo. Another issue is that it looks a little generic. As DP said it doesn't tell me anything about the company. There's not a lot about it that seems original, or conveys an identity. Also, because the name of the company doesn't really tell me anything about what it does immediately, the logo needs to convey that, and I'm just not getting it from your logo. If anything I'd say it was for a design company or something, but if I saw a design company with a logo like this I probably wouldn't go to them because it tells me they're kind of generic. I can understand that you were trying to make it look cool, and by all means go for that, but keep in mind that good can often be very, very generic and uninspiring. Before I start a logo I usually do a bit of research into who it's for and what audience it will be directed at. Try doing a wordbank based on who the logo will be for; find out the attributes and ideals of the client and try and incorporate them into the logo. Afterall, you're not just creating a logo, you're essentially creating the client's identity. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm getting angry or anything, I really just want to help as much as possible. |
