Kofi Ansah
First of all, congratulations about your feature.
Like we always do, how do you feel about this?
Isaac Burton
It’s awesome. I’m new to this group, and quite new to art groups in general, so to be featured is really an honor.
Kofi Ansah
Tell us a bit about yourself. How would you or any of your closest friends describe you as a person?
Isaac Burton
Well, I’m a 17-year-old boy from Northfield, MN. I like to play sports and be outside, and I also like to make art. I think my friends would say that I am somewhat hyper and crazy sometimes. I like to think that they would say that I am a funny person too…
Kofi Ansah
Since you're one of our newest Artists, could you tell us a bit about your experience since joining digitalflow?
Isaac Burton
I didn’t really know what to expect when I joined, as this is one of the first art groups I have been in. That said, I found that everyone in the group was really helpful, and gave me some really good advice on my pieces. Being in this group really motivated me to work hard and make more pieces. I really enjoyed working with digitalflow for this pack.
Kofi Ansah
How long have you been designing and what initially got you designing?
Isaac Burton
I have been dinking around in Photoshop now for about 3 years now. I got into it from some video game forum where I was making signatures. I don’t really play much video games anymore, but I did hold on to digital art. I guess it just grew into a passion of mine.
Kofi Ansah
How did you develop the style you currently poses and do you think you will develop it further more as time goes by?
Isaac Burton
I think that the style I use developed from when I used to make a lot of T-shirt designs. It required my to have vectored designs and detailed line work. I have always loved to just draw with pencil and paper, and this style allows my to incorporate that more into my work. All my pieces start with a drawing that is scanned into the computer. I hope to work more with mixed media. I have one mixed media piece in this pack, and it was really fun to make.
Kofi Ansah
What do you see yourself doing in the near future (career wise?)
Isaac Burton
I’m not totally sure. I’m gonna be going to college next year for something related to graphic design, but I really haven’t worked out the specifics… I guess I’ll just see where I end up.
Kofi Ansah
Do you have any particular artists who inspire you in general or inspired you to be where you are now with your style?
Isaac Burton
Mathiole and Julia Somni have been big inspirations to me. Both are artists that I was introduced to through the t-shirt scene.
Kofi Ansah
What motivates you of inspires you to come up with the design concepts you produced for this pack, and also, in general?
Isaac Burton
I’m not really sure, to tell the truth. I suppose I often draw inspiration from music and other art. Sometimes I’ll write little pieces of poetry, and then the artwork will stem from that.
Kofi Ansah
Do you think art pack themes restrict your full potential?
Isaac Burton
Not at all. I think it helps me direct my thoughts and ideas and come up with better concepts.
Kofi Ansah
Would you recommend digitalflow to other Artist like yourself?
Isaac Burton
Of course I would, and I have. Digitalflow is a great place, with a lot of great artists. Plus with the new update the site is looking sexier than ever.
